Clinical characteristics and outcomes of neonates born to mothers with confirmed COVID-19 infection at Dr. Soetomo regional general hospital, Surabaya, in 2021

To describe the characteristics of neonates born to mothers with confirmed Covid-19 infection. A descriptive retrospective study using medical record data patients treated in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Dr. Soetomo Regional General Hospital from January 1 July 24, 2021. total 174 were positive COVID-19 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) swab test results. 11 RT-PCR results, and 30% them (52 neonates) preterm. The delivery method was dominated by Caesarean section, as many 117 pregnant women (67%). 48 (27%) a birth weight < 2,500 grams, 18 babies (10%) died 2 Currently, no vertical transmission proven. Meanwhile, horizontal assumed be source infection neonates. Indeed, application health protocols proven prevent such effectively.
